About the Region

The Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone is located in the eastern part of the Czech Republic, in the Zlín Region, in the Kroměříž district, near the town of Holešov. The Zlín Region is an industrial region with a highly technically educated population. Its industrial potential consists primarily of manufacturing industry enterprises.

HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES

 

The entire territory of the Zlín Region is covered by a network of outpatient facilities and emergency medical services. Hospital care is provided by four hospitals established by the region and several smaller hospitals operated by other founders. The area offers high-quality and accessible residential care capacities for senior citizens and people with disabilities, as well as a wide network of outpatient and field-based social services for all target groups. Spa and wellness tourism is a significant sector in the region.

Education

The region has a well-developed network of technically oriented secondary vocational schools. Most of these schools are established and operated by the Zlín Region. High-quality and accessible technical education is one of the key priorities of the regional government.

 

The Zlín Region also has a high proportion of university-educated residents. A major contributor to this is Tomas Bata University in Zlín, which, with approximately 9,000 students, ranks among the fastest-growing universities in the Czech Republic.

 

Within a one-hour drive from the Holešov zone, there are also other major university cities, including Brno, Olomouc, and Ostrava.

The Zlín Region is a popular tourist destination known for its rich natural, cultural, and historical diversity. Among the most visited attractions are Zlín Zoo – Lešná, the Wallachian Open Air Museum, and the Archbishop’s Palace in Kroměříž. The region is also an important destination for religious tourism, with pilgrimage sites such as Velehrad, Hostýn, and Radhošť.

 

The dominant landmarks of the town of Holešov are its Baroque château and the Šach Synagogue, named after the renowned scholar and rabbi Sabbatai ben Meir HaKohen. Jewish heritage sites in Holešov attract visitors from all over the world.
